Attorney Luke Nichols has spent the majority of his legal career defending criminal cases in Virginia. Luke’s clear-cut focus on DUI, reckless driving and traffic law has made him an authority in those areas and produced excellent results for hundreds of clients. He is the author of several books on Virginia traffic law, including “The Virginia DUI Handbook” (2nd edition), “The Virginia Reckless Driving Handbook” (3rd edition), “Driving on a Suspended License in Virginia.”, “Virginia Drug Crimes Defense Manual“, and “Defending Virginia Property Crimes”.
Mr. Nichols is one of the few lawyers in Virginia who have received NHTSA-based law enforcement training in the operation of police radar, lidar, pacing and VASCAR. He has also completed the NHTSA-based DUI field sobriety test law enforcement and instructor training.
Prior to becoming a partner at Nichols & Green, Luke founded his own law firm, Spectrum Legal Defense, and worked for the United States Department of Justice.
He is a member of the National College for DUI Defense (NCDD) and the Virginia State Bar.
Luke is a graduate of George Mason Law School and Brigham Young University. He was born in Alaska, speaks fluent Japanese, and is currently studying Spanish. Luke is an avid fisherman.
Garrett D. Green is a seasoned attorney with more than 23 years of experience. For the past decade he has focused his practice primarily on criminal defense of reckless driving, DUI and criminal charges. His practice includes defending clients against charges of drug, theft and sex offenses. Garrett has extensive civil litigation experience in matters relating to real estate transactions, landlord/tenant litigation, employment and general contract suits.
Garrett is also a coauthor of the “Virginia Drug Crimes Defense Manual“, and “Defending Virginia Property Crimes”.
Garrett is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. He is very well respected by judges, prosecuting attorney, police and fellow members of the bar. As a result of his almost daily exposure to the judges and prosecutors of Fairfax County, Garrett is extremely knowledgeable about how to handle the various criminal and traffic cases he defends on behalf of his clients.
Garrett has consistently received praise from his clients due to his excellent client relations and his ability to obtain results in court that very few attorney can match.
Garrett is a graduate of Syracuse University College of Law and Hamilton College. He speaks fluent French and in his free time enjoys playing piano with his jazz band, sailing and skiing.
